What does the tulip shape of these bowls do?
The bowl tapers slightly inwards towards the rim. The aroma therefore gathers in the space above the wine and travels through the narrower opening towards your nose, instead of dispersing widely as it would from a straight bowl.
What is the difference with the Taste range?
Taste and Tulip Taste are two separate ranges from Schott Zwiesel. Tulip Taste has the inward-tapering rim and is supplied in fours; Taste has a more open bowl shape and comes in sixes.
How many pieces does Tulip Taste come in?
Every shape in this range is supplied in sets of four, including the champagne glass. Four glasses match a 75 cl bottle, from which you pour four generous measures without overfilling the glasses.
Which glass should you choose for pinot noir?
The burgundy glass of 78.2 cl. It has the widest bowl in the range, giving a light, aromatic grape such as pinot noir room to open up before the tulip shape gathers the aromas again.
