Can you drink wine from a Picardie?
Yes, that is entirely normal in French bistros. The 25 or 31 cl works best: a 12 cl pour sits comfortably in it. For wine you want to let breathe, a stemmed bowl is the better choice.
Why do stacked Picardie glasses get stuck?
Because of moisture and air between two glasses that were not yet dry. Put the bottom glass in warm water and fill the top one with cold water and they will let go. So only stack once the glasses are completely dry.
What sizes does the Duralex Picardie come in?
The series runs from 9 to 58 cl. The 9 and 13 cl are shot and espresso sizes, the 25 cl is the standard water glass, the 31 and 36 cl are for soft drinks and mixers, and the 50 and 58 cl are long-drink sizes.
Is tempered glass really unbreakable?
Not unbreakable, but a good deal stronger than ordinary glass. It withstands changes in temperature and, under a hard knock, falls apart into blunt granules instead of shards, which makes it safer where there are bare feet or children.
