Lagavulin Feis Ìle 15 Years
Lagavulin for Islay's whisky festival: fifteen years old, at cask strength and finished in casks that held Moscatel de Málaga. Peat smoke with toffee, cherries and pepper, in a limited edition.

A festival bottle with an Andalusian finish
Every year, Islay celebrates Feis Ìle, the island's whisky festival, and each distillery releases its own bottling for the occasion. This Lagavulin is the 2025 edition: a fifteen-year-old single malt that was first matured in refill butts and hogsheads and then finished in rare casks that held Moscatel de Málaga, a sweet wine from Andalusia.
The finish adds layered fruitiness to Lagavulin's signature peat smoke. The whisky is bottled at cask strength, 55.7%, so it is not diluted after leaving the cask. The edition is limited; when it's gone, it's gone. This is therefore mainly a bottle for collectors and enthusiasts who want to experience Lagavulin differently from the 16 or the 8.
In brief
Peat and sweet wine in balance
Peat smoke and cherries
Peat smoke up front, followed by dark cherries and toffee from the Moscatel de Málaga casks. Let the glass sit for a moment.
Toffee, salt and spices
Rich and full-bodied, with toffee, salt, spices and pepper. The cask strength makes it powerful; water brings out the fruit.
Long, peppery and smoky
A long finish in which smoke and pepper linger, with a sweet, fruity undertone from the wine casks.
Flavor profile of Lagavulin Feis Ìle 15 Years neat. With water, the balance shifts from pepper to cherry and toffee.
Tasting at cask strength
At 55.7%, water is not a flavor spoiler but a tool. Take your time and taste this bottle in stages.
First, a small sip neat
Pour 20 ml into a tulip glass and take a very small sip. Hold it in your mouth for a moment: this lets your tongue adjust to the strength and lets you taste the full power of peat and pepper.
Tasting glasses →Then water, little by little
Add a few drops of cool water at a time with a pipette or teaspoon and taste again. At around one-quarter water, the cherries and toffee from the Moscatel casks open up.
Glass: tasting glass →With blue cheese or chocolate
A small glass with some water alongside blue cheese or a piece of dark chocolate. The salt and smoke of the whisky pair beautifully with both.
Whisky glasses →Mixing with a festival bottle?
Preferably not: this bottle is limited and made for drinking neat. For smoky cocktails, the 8 Years is the better choice. If you do use it, use only a few drops.

Penicillin
Blended Scotch with lemon and honey-ginger. Half a centiliter of Feis Ìle as a float is enough for a smoky nose.
Rob Roy
Scotch, sweet vermouth and bitters. A few drops of Feis Ìle in a Rob Roy complement the sweet wine finish.
Rusty Nail
Scotch and Drambuie over ice. Use a blend as the base and rinse the glass with a little Feis Ìle.
