Smirnoff Ice
Not vodka to mix yourself, but a drink that is already mixed: Smirnoff No. 21 with the classic flavor of lime, at 4%. Pour ice-cold and you are ready. If you want to make your own, the lime vodka cocktails below come closest to it.

What exactly is Smirnoff Ice?
Smirnoff Ice is a ready-to-drink beverage from The Smirnoff Co. in London: a ready-made premix made with Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka and the classic flavor of lime. It is neither beer nor vodka for mixing yourself. The vodka is already diluted and flavored, leaving it at 4% alcohol.
That also explains why it is so popular. You do not need to measure anything, there is no shaker involved, and the alcohol percentage is close to that of a regular lager. If you want the same fresh citrus flavor in a stronger, homemade version, grab a bottle of No. 21 and make a Moscow Mule or Caipiroska.
In brief
Lime, fizz, and little alcohol
Citrus
A fresh aroma of lime and citrus, without noticeable alcohol.
Light and sweet and sour
Sweet and sour and light, with a fresh citrus note. You can barely taste the vodka; it is mainly there for body.
Short and refreshing
A short, refreshing finish. The colder you pour it, the drier and fresher it tastes.
Flavor profile of Smirnoff Ice, poured ice-cold. At room temperature, it becomes sweeter and less refreshing.
How to pour Smirnoff Ice, and how to make it yourself
Drink Smirnoff Ice straight from the bottle. The only things you can improve are the temperature and the glass.
Ice-cold in a long drink glass
Pour 200 ml of Smirnoff Ice from the refrigerator into a long drink glass filled with ice and add a lime wedge. This keeps it cold and refreshing to the last sip.
Highball glasses →Homemade: Moscow Mule
Prefer it stronger and less sweet? 50 ml of Smirnoff No. 21, 15 ml of lime juice and 120 ml of ginger beer in a copper mug filled with ice. The same lime, more character.
Go to the recipe →Homemade: Caipiroska
Muddle half a lime, cut into wedges, with 2 teaspoons of sugar in a tumbler, add crushed ice and 50 ml of Smirnoff No. 21. The citrus of Ice, but fresh.
