Havana Club 7 Años
The Havana Club rum to sit down with. Aged for at least seven years in white oak, with aromatic tobacco, cocoa, vanilla and dried fruit. Neat, with one ice cube or in an Old Fashioned.

Seven years of Cuban oak
Havana Club 7 Años is dark rum made from Cuban sugar cane that ages for at least seven years in white oak barrels. Because of the warm climate, aging in Cuba proceeds much faster than in, for example, the Scottish Highlands, so seven years already produces a complex, deep rum here.
That makes it the turning point in the range. The 3 Años and the Especial are for cocktails; the 7 Años was the first Cuban rum to be presented as a sipping rum. It comes in at 40%, slightly higher than its younger siblings, and has a distinctive personality with tobacco, cocoa, vanilla and dried fruit.
In brief
Tobacco, cocoa and dried fruit
Aromatic tobacco
Tobacco leaf and vanilla, underpinned by cocoa, dried fruit and the warmth of oak.
Full and spicy
Fuller and rounder than the younger Havana Clubs, with cocoa, vanilla, dried fruit and a spicy note in good balance.
Long and warm
A long, warm finish with oak and spices. This is where you notice the seven years in the barrel best.
Flavor profile of Havana Club 7 Años neat. With a drop of water or an ice cube, the fruit and vanilla open up further.
Tasting, sipping or stirring
You don't need to mix the 7 Años away. Take your time: first neat, then with a drop of water, and only then with ice.
Tasting it neat
3 cl at room temperature in a tulip-shaped tasting glass. Let it stand for a few minutes, smell it first, then take small sips. A few drops of water open up the tobacco and fruit.
Tasting glasses →With one ice cube
4 cl over one large, clear ice cube in a heavy tumbler, with a piece of orange peel. The cube melts slowly and keeps the rum cool without diluting it.
Tumblers →As an Old Fashioned
Stir 60 ml Havana Club 7 Años, 5 ml sugar syrup and two dashes of bitters with ice and strain over one large ice cube, with an orange peel. The rum version of the classic.
