Sonnema Berenburg & Cola
Sonnema cola without measuring: Berenburg and cola already mixed in a 25 cl can, at 7%. Chilled from the refrigerator, over ice in a highball glass, and ready. If you want to make it yourself, here's how below.

Sonnema cola, premixed
Sonnema Berenburg & Cola is the best-known way to drink Sonnema, ready-made in a 25 cl can. The can contains 23% Berenburg, supplemented with carbonated water, sugar, caramel coloring, food acid, flavorings and caffeine. Together, that adds up to 7% alcohol: spicy and sweet, with Sonnema's robust character.
The Berenburg itself is made according to Sonnema's old family recipe, with ingredients including gentian root, sandalwood, centaury, elder leaves and orange peel. The can is convenient for a festival, a boat or a party where no one wants to stand behind the bar. At home, you can make it just as easily with a bottle of Sonnema and a bottle of cola.
In brief
Spicy cola with a bite
Cola & spices
First comes the sweet aroma of cola, followed by the spices and orange peel of the Berenburg.
Sweet and spicy
Sweet and fizzy, with Sonnema's bitter spices in the background. You can barely taste the 7%.
Short and spicy
A short finish in which the spices linger just a little longer than the cola. The colder, the fresher.
Flavor profile of Sonnema Berenburg & Cola, poured ice-cold. When warm, it becomes sweeter and flatter.
From the can, or homemade
You drink the can as it is. The only things you can improve are the temperature and the glass.
Ice-cold in a highball glass
Pour a chilled 250 ml can over plenty of ice in a highball glass, with a lemon wedge. This keeps it cold and fizzy to the last sip.
Highball glasses →Homemade: Sonnema cola
50 ml Sonnema Berenburg with 150 ml cola in a highball glass filled with ice. This lets you decide how strong it is; this ratio is stronger than the can.
About Sonnema →Homemade: kopstoot
