Jameson
The triple-distilled Irish whiskey in the green bottle, the world's best-selling. Everything about the taste, the varieties, Jameson ginger & lime and the glass it belongs in.

Triple distilled, twice as smooth
Jameson was founded in 1780 by John Jameson in Bow Street, Dublin. His motto, 'Sine metu' (without fear), is still on the label. Since 1975, Jameson has been distilled in Midleton, County Cork, at one of Europe's largest distilleries. The brand belongs to Irish Distillers, part of Pernod Ricard, and is by far the best-selling Irish whiskey in the world.
Jameson is a blend of pot still whiskey (made from malted and unmalted barley) and grain whiskey, triple distilled and matured for at least four years in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. This triple distillation makes it remarkably smooth: vanilla, green apple, honey and a hint of spice, without smoke. Alongside the Original, there are Black Barrel, the Caskmates editions matured in beer casks, the fruity Jameson Orange and the 18 Years.
In brief
What types of Jameson are there?

Jameson Original
The classic in the green bottle: smooth, light and fruity, with vanilla and green apple. Neat, on the rocks or with ginger ale.

Jameson Black Barrel
More pot still whiskey, matured in double-charred bourbon casks. Richer and sweeter, with toffee, nuts and spices.

Caskmates Stout Edition
Jameson finished in casks that previously held Irish stout. Cocoa, coffee and a hint of hops alongside the familiar smoothness.

Caskmates IPA Edition
Finished in IPA casks: fresher and hoppier than the Stout Edition, with citrus and a slight bitterness.

Jameson Orange
Jameson with natural orange flavour, bottled at 30%. Sweet and fruity, made for mixing with soda, tonic or lemonade.

Jameson 18 Years
Aged for eighteen years and finished in fresh American oak, bottled at 46%. Complex and rich, with oak, toffee and spices.
Original for mixing and Irish coffee; Black Barrel or Caskmates Stout for drinking neat.
Smooth, light and fruity, without smoke
Vanilla & green apple
Soft vanilla, green apple, pear and a hint of flowers. Light and inviting, without any smoke.
Smooth and sweet
Silky smooth, with honey, vanilla and a light spiciness from the pot still whiskey. Barely any alcohol burn.
Short and clean
A short, smooth finish of vanilla and a hint of sherry. Longer and sweeter with Black Barrel.
Tasting profile of Jameson Original. Black Barrel is richer and sweeter, Caskmates Stout has cocoa and coffee, and 18 Years has more oak.
Three ways to drink Jameson
Jameson is the most versatile whiskey in the bar: smooth enough to drink neat, light enough for mixing and the perfect base for an Irish coffee.
Jameson ginger & lime
50 ml Jameson with 150 ml ginger ale in a long drink glass full of ice, with a lime wedge squeezed into it. The brand's signature serve and the easiest whiskey cocktail there is.
Glass: long drink glass →Irish coffee
40 ml Jameson and two teaspoons of brown sugar in a glass of hot coffee, topped with a layer of lightly whipped cream. Do not stir: drink the coffee through the cream.
