Glenfiddich 18 Years
Eighteen years in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks: round, soft and with distinct sherry notes. The bottle in the range that you save for a special moment.

Sherry and bourbon in balance
Glenfiddich 18 Years is the oldest bottle in the core range. It matures for years in two types of casks: Spanish oak that held Oloroso sherry and traditional bourbon casks made of American oak. The Spanish wood gives sweetness and sherry notes, the American oak gives vanilla and structure, and the two keep each other in balance.
Where the 12 Years is fresh and pear-like, the 18 is round and soft, with baked apple, cinnamon and oak. The finish is long and dry. It is the same 40% as the 12 and the Solera 15, so you don't need to add water to make it approachable. This is a whisky for connoisseurs and for anyone with something to celebrate.
In brief
Baked apple, cinnamon and a long finish
Sherry & apple
Sweet sherry notes with baked apple and a hint of cinnamon, calm and inviting.
Round and soft
Soft and full, with the sweetness of sherry wood balanced by vanilla and oak from the bourbon casks.
Long and dry
A long, dry finish in which the oak and cinnamon linger for a long time.
Flavor profile of Glenfiddich 18 Years neat at room temperature. Rounder and drier than the 12 Years.
Three moments for the 18 Years
You don't mix this whisky away. Drink it neat, give it time and choose the moment carefully.
Neat, after ten minutes
Pour 3 cl into a tulip-shaped tasting glass and let it sit for ten minutes. The sherry and baked apple will become more pronounced and the alcohol will soften. No water is needed.
Glass: tasting glass →Alongside the 12 Years
Pour 2 cl of the 12 and 2 cl of the 18 side by side into two identical glasses. This way, you can taste at once what six extra years and sherry casks do to a whisky.
About the 12 Years →With dessert or cheese
3 cl without ice in a heavy tumbler with apple pie, nut pie or a piece of mature cheese. The cinnamon and apple find their echo in it.
Tumblers →If you do want to mix it
Preferably neat, but if you want to make a classic with the 18 Years, choose a recipe with few ingredients that lets the whisky shine.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, a sugar cube and bitters. Smooth and luxurious with the 18 Years.
Rusty Nail
Scotch with a splash of Drambuie over ice. The cinnamon from the 18 comes through beautifully.
Hot Toddy
Whisky with hot water, honey and lemon. A winter treat.
