Chivas Regal 18 Years
The Chivas for after dinner. Eighteen years old, refined and full, with dried fruit and dark chocolate. A whisky to drink slowly, preferably from a tasting glass.

Eighteen years of patience in one blend
Chivas Regal 18 Years is a blended Scotch in which the youngest whisky has spent at least eighteen years in casks. Those extra years make it richer and more complex than the 12 Years. The brand itself speaks of 85 flavor notes in every drop: a way of saying that you discover something new with every sip.
As with all Chivas, the heart is Strathisla from Keith in Speyside, complemented by older malt and grain whiskies. The alcohol content remains 40%. While the 12 is an all-rounder for ice and cocktails, the 18 is a whisky to taste neat, after dinner or as a gift for someone who enjoys smooth Scotch.
In brief
Deep, full and long
Rich and layered
Dried fruit and a warm sweetness, with a new layer emerging behind each sniff. Take your time.
Chocolate and fruit
Rich and refined, with dark chocolate and dried fruit. Softer and rounder than the 12, without smoke.
Long and warm
A long, warm finish that gently fades away. That’s the biggest difference from the younger bottles.
Flavor profile of Chivas Regal 18 Years neat. A few drops of water bring out the fruity side.
How to taste Chivas Regal 18
With the 18, it’s all about tasting. No soft drinks, preferably no ice, just a good glass and a little patience.
Neat, in three steps
Pour 30 ml into a tasting glass. Smell first with your mouth slightly open, then take a small sip and let it roll around for a moment. Notice how long the finish lingers.
Tasting glasses →With a drop of water
Add a few drops of cool water to 30 ml of whisky with a pipette or teaspoon. This removes the sharpness and makes the fruit and chocolate more pronounced.
Glass: tasting glass →With a piece of chocolate
40 ml in a tumbler alongside a square of 70% dark chocolate. Alternate between a bite and a sip: the chocolate notes in the whisky will stand out even more.
Tumblers →Still mixing with the 18?
It can be done, but choose cocktails with few ingredients so you can keep tasting the whisky. For ordinary mixed drinks, the 12 is the smarter choice.

Rusty Nail
Scotch and Drambuie over ice. With an older blend, it becomes rounder and less sweet.
Manhattan
Whisky, sweet vermouth and bitters, stirred and served in a coupe. Made with Scotch, it is also known as a Rob Roy.
Old Fashioned
Little more than whisky, a little sugar and bitters. The luxurious way to mix an 18.
